Day 1- THURSDAY
Sheik Hussein Bridge - Jerash - Amman
Pick up from your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem and drive to the Sheikh Hussein Bridge border crossing and enter Jordan. Drive to Jerash – city of the Decapolis, located about 45 kilometers (28 miles) north of Amman in the fertile heights of Gilead. Visit the Roman city with colonnaded streets, the ancient theater, the baths, the hill top temple, the triumphal arch and more. Then drive to Amman for city sightseeing and overnight stay.
Day 2- FRIDAY
Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Shobak - Petra
After breakfast, drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land and ruins of historical sites. Continue on to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. From this point you can see the Jordan Valley, Jericho, the Dead Sea and Jerusalem. Visit the ruins of a Byzantine church with a mosaic floor. Proceed via the crusaders castle of Shobak to Wadi Musa (Petra), for overnight.
Day 3- SATURDAY
Petra - Amman
After an early breakfast, ride horseback into the “Siq” (canyon) and on foot to Petra. The city is known as the Red Rock City, and was the ancient capital of the Nabataeans from the 3rd century B.C.E. until the 2nd century C.E. Visit the carved monuments, such as the Great Treasury (El Kahazane), and then the field of the tombs, obelisks, and altar (Al Madhbah) from where you can view the entire red sandstone rock city. Return to the village of Wadi Musa and drive back to Amman for overnight.
Day 4- SUNDAY
Amman - Allenby Bridge - Jerusalem/Tel Aviv
After an early breakfast drive to the border crossing and back into Israel and on to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. (Optional additional nights, rates upon request).
